I'm a big fan of Atlantean legend, and I've always been intrigued by the stories of Nazi inventions. Dreaming up the enemies that our heroes of Section M and Majestic would be facing in Achtung! Cthulhu I was inspired to create an organisation born of a mysterious figure, Mina Wolfe who rises quickly through the ranks of the Black Sun. When they ignore the clues to ancient Atlantean technology in Weissler's obsessive drive to find ancient mythos power, Mina is determined to break away. The result is the powerful Nachtwolfe, or 'Night Wolves' who's specialists work alongside normal German units, which have been equipped with advanced technology derived from their research and discoveries of ancient Atlantean relics.
We even have a whole campaign based around their global hunt - Shadows of Atlantis which is being written by lead writer, Lynne Hardy. One of the miniatures sets introduces three recurring figures from the Nachtwolfe faction: the Specialist, in this case a sniper who's powerful weapon can take out key individuals in even the most protected vehicles or bunkers, the Stalker who carries an advanced Stg43 modified to fire anti-tank weapons, loaded with a variety of specialist explosives. The Stalker is incredibly powerful on the battlefield, meanwhile the Force Master commands the force to literally throw armoured vehicles like child's toys.
